Note that it's not possible to set filters prior to the scan. Once the search is over, Deleted File Recovery organizes found files by reconstructing their original folder structure. Otherwise, you can switch to a different mode to view files by type.

A search function is put at your disposal for quickly identifying the file you're looking for. If the quick scan mode fails, then you can try running deep scan. It takes a considerably longer amount of time to finish but it should deliver more thorough results.

As for file recovery, this implies only choosing a destination on the disk to save the recovered files. As a general rule, it's advisable to save the files in a location different than the original, in order to avoid any issues. The software application is also equipped with a preview for text, images and any type of file via hexadecimal display.
Needs a bit more work

The tool carried out scan and recovery jobs quickly in our tests. It had surprisingly low impact on system performance, using minimal resources. Unfortunately, it failed in its attempts to recover several files that we recently deleted via Shift+Delete.

Taking everything into account, Deleted File Recovery has a presentation but it has to work a bit more on the execution. Also, we're looking forward to more features, such as filters for the search function.
